- How do I secure my booking?
- Use the enquiry button above to discuss your sailing programme, preferred dates and crew requirements.
- A 20% deposit secures your booking once the programme and price are confirmed. The balance is due 60 days before departure. Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred with sufficient notice.
- All Arctos charters operate as sail-training activities, with participants joining as active crew or trainees rather than passengers.

- Can we arrange our own itinerary?
- Absolutely. Arctos is licensed for offshore sail training, allowing us to offer adventurous passages beyond Sydney Heads, coastal voyages to Port Stephens and longer offshore adventures to destinations such as Lord Howe Island.
- Everyone aboard participates in sailing the yacht under the guidance of our professional skipper and mate. Activities may include helming, sail handling, navigation, watchkeeping and seamanship, depending on experience.
- For corporate groups, a day sail or overnight offshore passage offers a memorable team-building challenge, with genuine opportunities to develop teamwork, communication and leadership.

- Do I need previous sailing experience?
- Not necessarily. We can tailor suitable inshore and introductory training programmes for beginners, while longer offshore passages may require previous sailing experience.
- Arctos is a sail-training vessel rather than a passenger charter yacht. All participants must be willing and able to take an active role in the sailing programme, with appropriate instruction and supervision.
- What should we wear?
- Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and flat, non-marking footwear. Warm layers and wet-weather gear are recommended, particularly for offshore passages.
- Lifejackets and safety equipment are provided. We can also lend you foul-weather gear if required.
- What are the yacht's specifications?
- Arctos is a 55-foot cutter-rigged Radford offshore racing yacht, with a 12-foot beam and 9-foot draft. She has a Yanmar 55 hp saildrive engine, 150 litres of fuel capacity and twin 125-litre freshwater tanks.
- Below deck are 10 sea berths, watertight bulkheads, an enclosed head and a gas stove.
- Her offshore equipment includes navigation instruments, AIS, VHF and HF communications, bilge pumps and Category 1 offshore safety equipment.
- What happens if the weather is unsuitable?
- Our skipper will assess the conditions and make safety decisions accordingly. If conditions are unsuitable for your planned sailing programme, we'll discuss an alternative itinerary, rescheduling or another suitable arrangement.
