Try Yachting

Experience the magic of sailing on Sydney Harbour on one of our comfortable yachts. This short lesson introduces you to the exciting sport of sailing in a safe and controlled way.

Description

Try Yachting is perfect for beginners.

But if you are already experienced you are still welcome to join us for some fresh sea air and sunshine. Or why not introduce a friend to sailing?

This three-hour, taster experience will give you the very basics of sailing and allow you to feel the magic!

Safety first

The lesson begins with a short safety briefing and an explanation of the basic parts of the yacht, as well as how to use clutches, winches, halyards, and sheets.

You go on to learn how to hoist and trim the sails, sail across the wind, helm the boat on different points of sail, and to tack.

Morning or afternoon?

We offer our Try Yachting experience in the morning and afternoon, so you can choose a time that works for you.

The wind is often a little fresher in the afternoon. So, if you are looking for adrenaline, pick the afternoon. If you prefer a more relaxed approach, go for the morning.

SailingFriendly, experienced instruction

One of our qualified and experienced instructors will run the lesson and show you the ropes in the friendly and relaxed manner that is the hallmark of Flying Fish.

Apres sail

Apres sail refreshments are available in the waterside 'sand bar' at Middle Harbour Yacht Club or you can enjoy lunch in a local cafe.
